If there’s one film that fans have cried again and again for, it’s an Obi-Wan film with none other than Ewan McGregor reprising the role. His iconic performance in the prequels, particularly his loveably cheesy one-liners in Revenge of the Sith, has made him a staple of the Star Wars universe and fanbase.

It’s a travesty, then, that when an Obi-Wan movie seemed to be appearing on the two-sunned horizon, only for Disney to whisk the film away fans. So uncivilised.

If there’s a silver lining to this story, it must be the announcement of an Obi-Wan television series, which Ewan McGregor will still helm. And it seems Ewan McGregor is quite pleased with the switch, saying:

“I’m really into the idea to be able to tell the story over several hours instead of just one hit. I think it’s going to be quite cool.”
