Every James Bond Movie Ranked Worst To Best

24. Diamonds Are Forever (1971)

Spectre Daniel Craig
United Artists

Though it wasn't technically Connery's final outing as Bond, Diamonds Are Forever was his final film under the Eon banner, and his first since skipping out on 1969's far superior On Her Majesty's Secret Service.

A tiresome, by-the-books Bond flick set against a colourful Las Vegas backdrop, the film follows 007 as he attempts to derail a diamond smuggling ring controlled by old enemy Stavro Blofeld, who wants to create a weapon of mass destruction.

That's it, in a nutshell, and whilst other Bond pictures have been equally derivative over the years, few have done so little to save themselves from their most troubling flaws.

Not only does Connery give a strangely disjointed performance as his most famous character, but the film around him is continuously betrayed by its unwillingness to mention the previous film's drama, or give Bond himself much of anything to do.
