Every Saw Movie Ending Ranked Worst To Best
4. Jigsaw
The End: Logan Nelson is the new killer and he kills the corrupt cop he blames for his wife's death.
This ending to the franchise's not-too-bad 2017 reboot was also somewhat hit-or-miss, but the positives definitely outweigh the negatives.
The main issue here is the logic. One can't help but wonder where the hell Logan (Matt Passmore) - apparently Jigsaw's original apprentice - has been for all this time, and his big plan was a load of overly convoluted nonsense; namely, he recreated the game he was in ten years ago and somehow it worked out just like the original one did despite there being fewer players.
Still, Logan himself was a solidly-written character with some interesting motivations, and this was also an ending that understood what makes the best Saw movies work. It showed a terrible person's crimes coming back to haunt them in the most horrifying way imaginable, making this a very thought-provoking and satisfying conclusion.
The scene's dialogue was excellent, too, while the reveal of Logan's true nature was genuinely surprising, and Detective Halloran's (Callum Keith Rennie) death via laser was brilliantly nasty. All in all, a solid finale.
