Every Star Trek Movie Ranked From Worst To Best

13. Star Trek: Nemesis

Star Trek: Nemesis was the final film to spin-off from The Next Generation, and it wasn't a particularly wholesome note to end on.

Centred around a Romulan coup d'édat instigated by none other than Jean-Luc Picard's clone (played by a young Tom Hardy), Nemesis never lived up to the promise of the franchise's earlier productions, and was in fact the last film to be made until Paramount rebooted the series in 2009.

Patrick Stewart's performance as Picard was fantastic as always, but the film itself was let down by a lacklustre premise, disjointed action and an unconvincing villain. The whole affair is made even worse, however, by the fact it served as The Next Generation's last goodbye.

The crew that debuted in 1987 were held alongside that of the original Enterprise's as the best Star Trek had seen, but while they too benefited from a galvanised presence on the big-screen, they didn't get to bid farewell quite the same way Kirk, Spock and co. did in 1991 - a fact that makes Nemesis' failure only more abject.
