2018 was the year that fans of the franchise had been waiting for for six long years. Ever since Thanos was teased in the post credit scene of The Avengers it had been building to Infinity War, and with each new chapter of the MCU expectations got that little bit higher. The Mad Titan finally took on the heroes of the Marvel Cinematic Universe in 2018, and the epic didn’t disappoint.

This was a masterpiece for the Russo brothers, for Kevin Feige, and for every actor who took part. Though Endgame and Far From Home closed out the Infinity Saga, this was by far the biggest movie of the franchise.

It almost doesn’t matter what other movies released along side Infinity War in 2018, as the third Avengers movie alone would put it up there with the best of them. However, the fact that the incredible, cultural icon that was Black Panther preceded it only cemented the year as one of the MCU's finest.

Ant-Man and the Wasp had the unenviable task of following the most ambitious comic book movie ever made, and though it is looked back on today as one of the more average movies in the franchise, even The Dark World couldn’t have taken the magic of Infinity War away from 2018.
