The Expendables 3: 10 Action Behemoths The Franchise Is Still Missing

9. Chow Yun-fat

After starring in a series of excellent John Woo action movies like Hard Boiled, Chow Yun-fat became internationally famous for his role in Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon. However, he attempted to follow that up with the Hollywood action comedy Bulletproof Monk and the anime adaptation Dragonball Evolution. Neither worked out well for him and he has since stuck to mostly dramatic roles in Asian films. But fans of John Woo€™s brutal €œgun fu€ movies of the 1980s and 1990s know that Chow can hold his own against any of the Expendables and look imposing while doing it. Chow keeps winning awards for his dramatic work, but it's a long time since we've seen him as the stiff-jawed gunman in a full-out explosive action movie. With Harrison Ford appearing in The Expendables 3 there is proof that there€™s plenty of room for tough award-winning actors in this franchise. Chow is way overdue for another chance at action movie stardom, and the Expendables could offer the career rejuvenation that he deserves.
