Fantastic Beasts: 10 Potential Harry Potter Spinoffs We'd Rather See
3. Draco Malfoy
Dramione forever, y'all. OK, but even if Draco doesn't get the girl, there's a whole lot of his story left untold. In a lot of ways, Draco is a much more complex character than Harry, but we don't really get to explore the nuances because we're hampered by our narrator, his biggest grade school enemy.
But what do we really know about him? We know that despite growing up in a cesspool of hate and bigotry, he still wasn't quite willing to kill for his parents' cause. And in one version of the eighth film's finale (filmed but ultimately not used in the movie), it is Draco who throws Harry his wand so that he can have his last climactic battle with Voldemort. And Draco's characterization in A Cursed Child is far from villainous, so it seems as though this is a direction JK has considered for him. I
t's clear to me, at any rate, that he is a classic example of nature vs nurture -- had he not been raised by Lucius Malfoy, he would have likely turned out drastically different. So what I want is a post Battle of Hogwarts redemption story for him. How does a Malfoy who doesn't really believe the party line anymore deal with being a social pariah?
And what can he do as an adult to prove to everyone that no matter how big of a dick he was in high school, he's not a terrible person. Um, maybe a road trip adventure with the Golden Trio? You know you want it.
