Freeman, Walken & Macy are three Lonely Maidens

Morgan Freeman and Christopher Walken have made a lot of bad choices recently. Is this movie another one?

Samuel L. Jackson, veteran actor Morgan Freeman has done an awful lot of crap lately but because he's so good at what he does and because he's still able to be amazing in really shitty roles, no-one seems to care and his reputation doesn't suffer. Since his cameo in Batman Begins, Freeman has starred in: a forgotten Robert Redford/Jennifer Lopez drama, a straight to DVD (though it had Kevin Spacey co-starring too) thriller Edison, the U.S. flop Lucky Number Slevin, the $83,000 domestic grossed 10 Items or Less, the straight to DVD (though it had John Cusack co-starring too) thriller The Contract and re-hasing God once more for the flop Evan Almighty. It's a testament to his skill as an actor and the audiences blindness than he hasn't been criticised for many of those roles, because there's been some flops and stinkers in that list, but Morgan Freeman... just stays Morgan Freeman. This sounds like a pretty fun movie though, but probably one that won't test his acting chops too much. Variety report that vets Morgan Freeman, Christopher Walken (of which the same can be said about Walken's recent filmography and in his case it often is) and William H. Macy will lead The Lonely Maiden.

"Maiden," written by Michael LeSieur ("You, Me and Dupree"), centers on three museum security guards who have become attached to the artwork they've watched over for decades. When they learn their beloved pieces are to be transferred to another museum, they concoct a scheme to "steal" them back.
The script coming from the writer of You, Me and Dupree is an automatic red flag for the movie and then when I will tell you the director of Zoom, Garfield and Thunderpants is on board to helm then I guess we really should start worrying. The film begins shooting on November 12th in Boston, and maybe this will be just another lame role for Freeman and Walken. I do like the premise though and these three actors could be every bit the comedy gold on screen together, and just like I quite liked the idea of Wild Hogs... there's something always appealing to me when talented vets team-up in the latter parts of their career for something fun like this.
