Glass Trailer 2 Reactions: 6 Ups & 3 Downs

5. Sarah Paulson's Morally Ambiguous Role

The brilliant Sarah Paulson will play Dr. Ellie Staple in the movie, a psychiatrist treating the three "supers" for their apparent delusions of grandeur, and the new trailer shines a brighter light on what sort of character she's going to be.

Though there's been speculation since the first trailer dropped that Staple could be a supervillain aiming to leech their powers, the second trailer makes it clear that she's trying to "treat" the trio by subjecting them to controversial experiments.

We see Dunn being force-fed water, while The Horde is subjected to intense lights which cause him to switch personalities, and something fishy's going on with Mr. Glass too.

It certainly seems to suggest that Staple may end up being neither a true hero or villain, but a more ambiguous character who may have good intentions, but loses sight of the suffering she causes to these three men. Paulson looks like she's crushing it either way, so that's encouraging.
