2. Mechagodzilla Gets Defeated By...Alcohol
If you expected Mechagodzilla to be defeated only when Godzilla and Kong put their differences aside to double-team him, you'd only be half-right.
Really the day is actually saved by Josh (Julian Dennison), who while in Mechagodzilla's control room decides to pour Bernie's booze flask over the vents in the control panel.
While this doesn't kill Mechagodzilla by itself, it does disrupt its circuitry momentarily and prevent it from killing Kong, while also buying precious seconds for Godzilla to charge Kong's axe with his atomic breath.
From there, Kong uses the charged axe to hack Mechagodzilla to pieces and finally rip its head off with his bare hands. Well played, Josh - you're the real hero here.
