2. To Keep The Ensemble Cast Happy

Marvel StudiosAs we mentioned earlier, this movie has a superb cast of actors playing the key characters. Chris Pratt, Dave Bautista, Zoe Saldana, Bradley Cooper, Vin Diesel, Josh Brolin, Lee Pace, Michael Rooker, Karen Gillan, Djimon Hounsou, John C. Reilly, Glenn Close and Benicio del Toro are just some of the star names who are portraying heroes and villains in Guardians of the Galaxy - and they're the kind of actors who pick and choose their options carefully. If this movie fails as emphatically as it potentially could, would these A-listers willingly return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe after being universally criticised? Granted, the ones Marvel Studios intend to use in the sequel and/or any other movies (such as the third Avengers movie or a potential Nova movie etc) will probably be tied to contracts consisting of a specific number of films - but we all know how hard to deal with an unhappy actor can be and they can potentially leave a project anyway, regardless of their contracts, or look like they aren't interested when it comes to actually filming again, which can result in a deterioration in the overall quality of a movie. So, for the sake of the future of the franchise as far as its lead actors are concerned, this needs to prove successful.
