Guardians Of The Galaxy: 20 Easter Eggs & References You Must See

9. Familiar Faces

The cast of Guardians Of The Galaxy is a remarkable thing. There's something for everyone in there. No doubt you already know the likes of Zoe Saldana, who plays Gamora, for her star turns in Avatar and the Stark Trek reboots; Chris Pratt, in the role of Star-Lord, for his comedic parts in sitcom Parks And Recreation and superior romcom The Five Year Engagement; Dave Batitsta's Drax from, uh, wrestling; and the voices of Rocket Raccoon, Groot and Thanos belong to bonafide Hollywood superstars Bradley Cooper, Vin Diesel and Josh Brolin respectively. Plus there's Benicio del Toro in a Liberace wig. Besides all of those headliners and the cameo appearances we've already chronicled, there's plenty of other familiar faces to be found amongst Guardians Of The Galaxy. Weirdly a lot of those faces come from British television, who have that irresistible "wait.. is that..." effect. Most obvious is Karen Gillan, Doctor Who's Amy Pond, as Gamora's evil, shaven-headed sister Nebula. Weirder than that, though, is a bit part for totally underrated comic genius Peter Serafinowicz as a member of the Nova Corps, the part of The Collector's pink-skinned minion being played by Ophelia Lovibond from Nathan Barley, and villainous Irish man Brendan from Hollyoaks as a guard aboard the Kyln. It's like Mandy in the Dark Knight all over again.
