1. James Gunn Told Us So
James Gunn, in both of his directorial efforts, has made peculiar choices for the characters in his films, bringing out performances from odd people, and he will probably continue to for the rest of his life. For example, he put Rainn Wilson as a mentally unstable pseudo-hero with a wrench and enough anger to use it in Super, and prior to the release Im fairly sure Gunn was the only person around who thought Dwight from The Office could fill the role. But he did, and the crazy that was emitted was absolutely beautiful, so I will personally trust James Gunn with whomever he decides to put as Star-Lord, even if it is a complete unknown. Instead of an unknown, Gunn chose Pratt, and because the mastermind behind this entire paragraph is James Gunn, I will agree with that decision whole-heartedly.
