Yep: James Gunn has revealed that, despite briefly considering otherwise, he ultimately decided that he wanted Peter Quill - or Star Lord, if you're that way inclined - to be the only human character in Guardians Of The Galaxy 2. To expand on that notion, the writer/director wanted the rest of the cast to consist of aliens in order to separate these movies from other MCU efforts and to concentrate further on developing the five heroes of the title. This revelation - that Quill will be the only human - also kills any rumours with regards to any of The Avengers appearing in Guardians 2, which many believed to be a possibility in the build-up to the movie's announcement. Which means that, sadly, Iron Man, Captain America, the Hulk, Black Widow and Hawkeye won't feature in the film in any capacity - Guardians Of The Galaxy is sticking to outer space (and that's probably a good thing).
