Harry Potter: 10 Most Anxiety-Inducing Movie Moments
5. Voldemort’s Resurrection – The Goblet Of Fire
Barty Crouch Junior’s plan came together very nicely at the end of The Goblet of Fire. After struggling his way through the enchanted maze, Harry is transported to the graveyard in Little Hangleton and forced to witness Voldemort’s resurrection.
As well as having to watch Cedric being murdered in front of him, Harry is also a key part of the ceremony. Trapped against a statue with no means of escape, he has to endure the agonising sensation of Wormtail’s knife ripping into his wrist and then using the blood to help resurrect the Dark Lord. And the scene becomes still more gruesome when Wormtail chops off his own wrist and adds that to the potion as well.
This earlier part of the graveyard scene is definitely the most terrifying. Unfortunatley, Ralph Fiennes’ performance as Voldemort can sometimes come across as amusing rather than scary. Still, his initial appearance and the soft way he speaks to Harry about how he’s going to kill him is also pretty creepy.
