Harry Potter: 10 Most Heart-Breaking Movie Moments
4. The Battle Of Hogwarts Casualties
The final big battle of the series takes place where it all started, with Hogwarts students and teachers, as well as hundreds of magical creatures putting up an impressive fight.
The full magnitude of the danger is demonstrated through the castle walls being blown to bits and people being struck dead over the place, with the emotional climax of the battle highlighting the deaths of characters we have grown to know and love over the course of seven films.
Harry, Ron and Hermione enter the Great Hall, only to find a mass of grief on display, with the dead being laid to rest. The personal stakes of the battle are solidified when Harry sees the Weasley family surrounding Fred’s body, and the final literal nail in the coffin is husband and wife Lupin and Tonks, lying lifeless beside each other.
This scene will always be remembered for highlighting the devastating consequences of war and ultimately seals Harry's determination to do whatever is necessary to finally put an end to Voldemort.
