7. Dick Clark
Likely most well known for hosting his Rockin New Year's Eve celebration on television every December 31st, Dick Clark, like Andy Griffith, was a worldwide name, a face and a personality that resonated with the American family in such a way that would evoke a smile or a sly grin from anybody who watched, in the sense of true happiness. Clark was also featured in the documentary Bowling for Columbine and the Charlie Kaufman head-trip Confessions of a Dangerous Mind, as well as working more places in TV, with shows such as American Bandstand and Pyramid. All this lumped together shows how much of a staple Dick Clark has been on the small screen, and now that one of the original masters of the art is gone, he will be missed.
