Incredibles 2 Review: 6 Ups & 3 Downs
3. The Jaw-Dropping Animation
To the shock of just about nobody who has ever seen a Pixar movie in their life, Incredibles 2 is one hell of a handsome movie. In both the talkier dramedy scenes and the more uproarious action sequences, every frame feels artfully constructed and painstaking laboured-over.
The city feels alive and vibrant, the character designs are marvellous, and Brad Bird's manipulation of the virtual camera makes the very best of both.
It will remain to be seen how the movie holds up in another decade-or-so - after all, the first Incredibles is starting to show its age now - but it's easy to believe it'll still be an eye-popping, diverse spectacle that's easy on the eyes in 2030.
