6. The Neibolt Street Battle

The Losers eventually head to Neibolt Street for their first major confrontation with Pennywise, with Bill, Richie and Eddie heading inside while the others play lookout.

Richie gets immediately uncomfortable when he sees a missing person poster of himself, while Eddie ends up attacked by the leper again and falls through the floor, breaking his arm.

After luring Richie into a room full of creepy clown dolls, Pennywise successfully manages to cut the three kids off from one another. Richie finds a coffin containing a maggot-infested doll of his own corpse, before Pennywise lunges at him and he just barely escapes.

Pennywise then attempts to eat Eddie but Bill and Richie save him just in time, and Beverly shoves a metal rod through the clown's head, wounding it enough that the kids can escape. However, Pennywise successfully breaks the team's spirit, and the Losers subsequently drift apart as fear takes over.

Combining effectively creepy CGI body horror (such as Pennywise crawling out of the fridge) and Bill Skarsgard's mesmerising performance, this is an absolute masterclass of WTF.
