Joker: Every Character Ranked Worst To Best
6. Randall
Randall is an awful person, make no bones about it. He's one of Arthur's fellow clown agency employees, played by Glenn Fleshler, who has a great track record in lots of really fine TV shows (including True Detective and Billions). He also seems to be everything that Arthur hates because he betrays him.
Randall appears to have Arthur's best interests at heart, but when the time comes to choose between protecting him and his own self-interests, he turns rat immediately. And he gets his comeuppance in one of the film's most dizzyingly intense scenes, which somehow perfectly blends brutality with pitch black comedy.
He basically lives for that scene to happen, because it helps explain certain distinctions in Arthur's character, because it proves he's not a fully realised monster. Or at least that he has his own moral compass still in place.
