4. It's Absolutely Nothing Like A DCEU Movie
While it's a shame that this cannot now be linked to Warner Bros' "flagship" franchise, it's actually a good thing that it doesn't in any way draw from the DCEU's creative approach. Even with the implied darkness of the material, it is visually distinct from the physically dark movies under that banner and the difference is definitely a selling point in that respect.
Artistically, it's chalk and cheese, and this looks like the perfect advert for comic book movies that don't over-rely on inflated budgets and over-blown effects work.
There are definitely Easter Eggs and obvious reference points - both from the comics and other movies - but it's not being rammed down our throats. Like someone literally covered in tattoos referencing comic book stories might have done, for instance...
