Justice League: 10 Rumours That Were Utter Bull

8. Superman Is The Real Villain

The Rumour: With Justice League's marketing showing only the most fleeting glimpses of Superman, some started to suspect that he was in fact the real villain of the movie, resurrected by the League and immediately turning on them.

This would tie into both The Flash's ominous warning and Bruce's Knightmare in Batman v Superman, both of which seemed to suggest the possibility of Superman as an antagonist.

Steppenwolf, meanwhile, would be a second-tier villain dealt with relatively quickly in order to make room for the Man of Steel conflict.

The Truth: This certainly would've been a much cooler idea than what we actually got, but aside from his conflict-filled resurrection scene, Superman is most certainly a hero in this film, and by the end of Justice League, he's much closer to the conventionally cheery version of the character fans know and love.
