Justice League: 7 Reasons To Be Positive About The DCEU’s Future

5. It Teased Lots Of Exciting Things To Come

Though Justice League's runtime is frustratingly brief, it manages to pack in plenty of teases and easter eggs that give the DCEU numerous different avenues to take in future movies.

Whether any of this stuff actually leads to anything or not... well, that remains to be seen. But the whole point of a cinematic universe is to sow seeds that can grow in the future, and in this regard, Justice League delivered some exciting goods.

There was a clear bit of Green Lantern setup in the Steppenwolf-versus-everyone flashback scene, which provides some hope that the oft-discussed Green Lantern Corps movie may finally come to fruition.

Then, there were mentions of Darkseid - Steppenwolf's boss - a cosmic villain who's been teased ever since BvS's Knightmare sequence. There was also a sly nod to Catwoman in the film's closing moments, a reference to Black Mask, and an ACE Chemicals sign - an iconic DC location - in the background of one scene.

This might all just be fan-pleasing fluff, but stuff like this is one of the biggest reasons we watch these movies in the first place; to find those hidden references and talk about them with like-minded individuals, dissecting what they might mean for the universe and its characters.

In short, they get people excited about future possibilities - and on that front, Justice League is one of the DCEU's most satisfying entries.
