Kevin Kline's three-decade career in film has been interesting in that he works with many of the same directors, writers, and actors over and over again. Having done six films with director Lawrence Kasdan, two apiece with directors Alan J. Pakula, Richard Attenborough, Irwin Winkler, and Ivan Reitman, as well as frequent collaborations with the likes of Kenneth Branagh, Sigourney Weaver, and John Cleese - it's safe to say that the man doesn't have any trust issues. This kind of career is interesting on one hand for the inevitable comparisons between all of these various collaborations, but it's also interesting to see when Kline takes on new roles with new people. His latest film, Last Vegas, which opens in the UK on Friday, is just such a role. Jon Turteltaub directs this romp through Sin City with Kline and three other spring chickens you may recognize - Robert De Niro, Michael Douglas, and Morgan Freeman, all of which have already gone through our regular Friday column dissection (Douglas, ironically, for when Last Vegas was released in the US at the end of last year... simply click on their names above to be re-directed to their respective entries). While Kline may not be the most famous of that bunch, he's certainly had his fair share of success in Hollywood. Let's look back over the awesome and the cringeworthy points in his career and hope that his role in Last Vegas doesn't find a home among the latter.
