Kong: Skull Island - 21 WTF Moments

5. NOBODY Is Good At Their Job

Literally nobody in Kong: Skull Island is any good at their defining jobs. It's like they've been cobbled together from human scraps, rather than agonisingly chosen for their expertise.

The soldiers are idiotic grunts or strange battle-hardened pacifists; the scientists are comically out of the loop and the Landsat crew have zero function whatsoever. And then there's Packard, whose military leadership is so incompetent it's a wonder he survived Vietnam...

But the two biggest offenders are expert photographer Weaver and expert tracker Conrad. Weaver is so great at photography that when she comes face to face with Kong in the midnight darkness, she takes some photos of him WITHOUT HER FLASH ON. Bet they came out great.

Then there's Conrad, who climbs up a mountain after leaving the soldier's group to try and find the river to trace their steps back to the boat. Putting aside the fact that he lost the boat in the first place, it turns out when he's at the top of the mountain that the river is now between him and where the soldiers are setting their trap for Kong. Which means at some point, the idiot crossed the river while looking for the river.
