1. Luke Skywalker - The Star Wars Trilogy
Well, this isnt much of a shock is it? Star Wars was and continues to be the role that will define Hamills career, and with good reason. Over the course of three films the audience got to see the character grow from an inexperienced farm boy to a fully fledged Jedi Knight, and it was because of Hamills performance that they believed every step of it. The character was never as cool as Han Solo or even Yoda but he was the moral core of the story. He's the one with the most growth, with everything from his body language to tone of voice changing as he becomes the man he was destined to be. He also went from being something of a whiny git to a badass space samurai, which helps with the coolness factor. Hamill found it tough to escape the character because he was simply so good in the role, so its no wonder he had a hard time shaking it off. He embraces it now though, and it's fantastic to see him return for The Force Awakens.
