Marvel’s Spider-Man: 8 Characters The New Movies Need To Introduce

4. Phil Urich

Phil Urich starts off simply as the nephew of Daily Bugle reporter Ben Urich, learning the ropes at the paper and bumping into Peter every so often. He€™s most often seen hanging around the Daily Bugle like any intern, using the photocopier and buying sarnies for the editorial team before becoming a fully-fledged reporter. Phil€™s comic book arc sees him become a heroic incarnation of the Green Goblin, eventually falling into villainy and taking on the mantle of the Hobgoblin instead when he becomes rather fond of decapitating his enemies. All forms of the Goblin moniker should probably be left on the back burner for a while since he€™s been an integral part of three films already, but including Phil would be a great way to tie Spider-Man into the New York established by Netflix€™s Daredevil. Ben Urich formed an important part of that show€™s first season before being murdered by Wilson Fisk, which would give Phil and Peter something in common that could lead to a relationship to replace the over exposed Harry Osborn as the de facto best friend. Also, any chance to bring Spider-Man and Daredevil closer should definitely be explored, as the two work very well together in terms of tackling crime on the streets.
