It's inevitable that we'll see a new Wolverine series sooner or later: Disney will know that the clawed berserker was one of Fox's most valuable brands and even without Hugh Jackman he remains an asset they won't put on ice for too long.

But rather than doing an origin story (which we've now seen already and don't need - not least because it might draw unwanted parallels with X-Men Origins), Marvel could copy one of Logan's most intriguing ideas and introduce an evil Wolverine to draw the new heroic version out. And the best option available would definitely be Daken, Wolverine's son, who is controlled by the government and has some serious daddy issues.

Whatever the new Wolverine movie looks like, they need to avoid another William Stryker storyline, and having Daken introduced as a villain would mean we'd immediately have the option for a Wolverine spin-off sequel. Plus, there's the bonus of him being one of a very small pocket of LGBT Marvel characters out there.
