MCU: 10 Big Implications Of Adding The Fantastic Four
4. New Avengers Members
A very unique thing - as far as movies are concerned, at least - about bringing the Fantastic Four over to the Marvel Cinematic Universe would be that they wouldn't actually have to be the Fantastic Four perpetually. In previous live action depictions of the superhero team, they would have had to remain as a quartet indefinitely, had the franchises continued, because the franchises were 100% devoted to them. In the Marvel Cinematic Universe, the characters could go their own way (we'll discuss a possibility for the Human Torch in a couple of pages' time) and that could mean the Avengers get some new members. All four classic members of the Fantastic Four - Reed Richards, Sue Storm, Johnny Storm and Ben Grimm - have been members of different iterations of the Avengers (whether it's the Avengers, the New Avengers, the Avengers Unity Division or otherwise), so the breakup of the group wouldn't mean the end of the characters in the MCU. It would also mean that, should one character prove more popular than the others, that character could be used again and the others scrapped or killed off.
