MCU: 10 Greatest Iron Man Moments
5. Taking On Thanos - Avengers: Infinity War
Avengers: Infinity War is a startling achievement in filmmaking. An epic in both scope and character, it is without question one of the greatest superhero movies ever made and arguably the best entry in the MCU. Dozens of characters, storylines, battles and confrontations collide to make the whole experience as exciting and intense as possible.
Whilst one could argue it's Thanos (Josh Brolin) who's the star of the show, since this is the first movie to fully characterise the villain, it is Iron Man who gets the most edge of your seat moment in the film.
After he dispatches Doctor Strange, Spider-Man, Star-Lord (Chris Pratt), Nebula (Karen Gillan), Drax (Dave Bautista) and Mantis (Pom Klementieff) with relative ease, Thanos comes face to face with Iron Man. Intent on taking the Mad Titan down, Iron Man even manages to make him bleed before Thanos gets the upper hand and beats him down.
His suit broken, though, Tony continues to fight right up until Thanos stabs him with his own weapon. It's an intense scene that perfectly shows how Tony is not a man willing to give up in the face of insurmountable odds, and though the whole film is an epic display for every character on screen (particularly Thor), this moment is a clear stand-out.
