10. Whiplash's Intro - Iron Man 2
There was much excitement with the announcement Mickey Rourke would play Whiplash in Iron Man 2. Here was a great actor, fresh off his acclaimed comeback role in The Wrestler, coming to clash onscreen with Robert Downey, Jr. Beware, kids, there’s gonna be fireworks!
Only there wasn’t. Rourke looked alternately bored or indifferent throughout - depending on the scene - and it’s clear from post movie interviews his working relationship with Marvel wasn’t a happy one. It doesn’t help he has little to work with, and his introduction on the race track is more embarrassing than bad-ass.
He just looks like a buff dude dressed in elaborate S&M gear, cracking his goofy looking electric whips. From this one scene alone it was obvious Whiplash was another lame MCU villain, and he lived up to that first impression sadly, which is why fans don't rank him all that high.
