MCU: All 28 Bands That Feature In Phase One And Two

4. Marvin Gaye

Song: Ain't No Mountain High Enough Film: Guardians Of The Galaxy The last track on the Guardians of the Galaxy€™s Awesome Mix Vol 1 is none other than Ain€™t No Mountain High Enough by the immortal Marvin Gaye, featuring Tammi Terrell. Gaye helped to shape the sound of Motown in the 1960s, first as a session musician and then as a solo artist with his era-defining hits How Sweet It Is and I Heard It Through The Grapevine. Ain€™t No Mountain High Enough became a hit again in 1970 when it was rerecorded by former Supremes frontwoman Diana Ross, and it fits the end scene of Guardians of the Galaxy perfectly. The film actually nearly continued beyond that point, with extra scenes wrapping up the loose ends that were Nebula and Grandpa Quill ending up on the cutting room floor to make way for a more upbeat ending.

Phil still hasn't got round to writing a profile yet, as he has an unhealthy amount of box sets on the go.
