30. The Incredible Hulk - We're Putting A Team Together
Back when The Incredible Hulk came out, the plans for the MCU were clearly different. For a start, Tony Stark hadn't yet been struck off from the Avengers Initiative as a rogue candidate and it seems there were some plans to make the Hulk the villain in The Avengers movie.
Those abandoned plans are why this stinger makes absolutely no sense in the wider context of the MCU. It suggests that Tony - in some sort of leading role in The Avengers already - was offering The Avengers as a means to control and defeat Bruce Banner's on-the-run Hulk.
Obviously, that all has to be retconned, but it at least meant The Incredible Hulk was cemented as MCU cannon and we'd be allowed a return by William Hurt's Thaddeus Ross later in the series. So it's not all bad.
