MCU Phase Four: 8 Marvel Legacy Heroes Who Need To Appear
4. Hawkeye - Kate Bishop
Based on what we can gather from set reports on Avengers 4, it looks like the MCU will be needing a new Hawkeye stat. Going by his new threads, Clint Barton will be ditching his bow and arrows to take on his secondary Ronin superhero mantle in the upcoming team-up event. Another rumour states that the character could even bite the bullet in the film.
Even if Jeremy Renner's time in the MCU is up, though, there is a way for Hawkeye's legacy to continue. In the comics, he trains up teen Kate Bishop as his successor. From a wealthy family, Kate was inspired to help others after being saved by Barton and discovering her father's criminal activities. She's another member of Young Avengers and is best friends with America Chavez. So if one of them is to make it to the MCU, let's hope the other follows.
There are darker elements to Kate's story that might have to be excised to fit the MCU's family-friendly tone - being a victim of sexual abuse was one of her reasons for becoming a hero - but mostly Kate would be a great fit for the movies. Every superhero team needs an archer (for some reason) and Kate could fit that bill in Phase Four.
