Next Bond Director: 8 Best & 4 Worst Directors To Replace Danny Boyle
2. Edgar Wright
If the suggestion that the studio have balked at the idea of Danny Boyle making a film in his own image is true, Edgar Wright might be a less than likely candidate given the fact that he left Ant-Man for pretty much the same reason, but if he was given the reins entirely, it would be a great hire.
Wright's chief selling point would be his eye for nostalgia, which has been a huge part of Daniel Craig's tenure as Bond, even as it's been a reinvention of the character. Hiring Wright would be the natural evolution of that sort of approach and even more importantly, he could restore some of the cool factor that seems to have been replaced by grit in the more recent movies.
Wright would also be a breath of fresh air next to what came before him and that might not be a bad thing with Craig's character looking for a fitting end. We'd all rather see him go out as a conquering hero rather than a wreck, surely? And Wright definitely knows how to make heroes in that image.
