Who Should Win

Get Out

This is one of the toughest categories to back anyone in, because all the nominees are so bloody good. Just edging it ahead of Lady Bird is Get Out, which is great across the board but everything starts from Jordan Peele's incredible screenplay. It brings a great mix of biting, relevant social commentary and satire, jet black comedy, genre subversion, and genuine, thought-provoking horror.

Who Will Win

Get Out

Jordan Peele's Get Out offers up one of the sharpest scripts of the bunch, and one that's been getting a lot of attention. It's a movie voters may want to recognise but, with it less likely to take Best Picture or Director, this offers up a good chance for it to win something. Its screenplay is one of the most original of the bunch, and also took home the WGA award, which is usually a reliable indicator.
