Pitch Perfect 3 Review: 3 Ups & 6 Downs
2. DJ Khaled's Woeful Supporting Role
Whether you love or hate DJ Khaled, it's hard to argue that his supporting performance here feels both excessive and painfully tacked-on.
Though at first it seems like the producer is only going to show up for a brief cameo, he in fact has a surprisingly large role, with the Bellas trying their best to impress him in the hope they can be his warmup act on the USO tour.
Khaled has charisma to spare, but it's wasted on a film like this: he just sticks out like a sore thumb and draws too much of the focus away from the Bellas at times.
