12. The Sinister Six Is Teased - Venom

It's been widely rumoured that the upcoming Tom Hardy-starring Venom movie will see the supervillain face off against his fellow extraterrestrial parasite, Carnage, who may end up being played by Riz Ahmed.

While the film is restricted in terms of how closely it can nod to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, it seems likely that Venom will begin setting things in motion for a Sinister Six team-up movie in the future, which can potentially be plugged into the MCU at a later point if it all actually works out.

As such, though the movie will inevitably end with Venom defeating Carnage, he'll probably live to fight another day so he can team with Venom in a future film.

Don't be surprised if there's a direct nod to the Sinister Six at the very end of Venom, perhaps with the introduction of Mysterio, Kraven the Hunter, Sandman or any noteworthy member of the group from the comics. Hell, maybe even Scorpion, who appeared in Spider-Man: Homecoming, could show up, depending on how comfortable Marvel Studios is with the idea of mildly overlapping universes.

After all, Sony has had a Sinister Six film in the works for years now, so it's hard to imagine the Venom movie not getting the ball rolling.
