8. Cecilia Reyes Sacrifices Herself - The New Mutants

The marketing for The New Mutants so far seems to suggest that most if not all of the movie will take place in a secret facility where the titular mutants are being held against their will.

It stands to reason that the film will almost certainly conclude with the mutants breaking out of their confinement and heading into the big, wide world, creating a neat set-up for the inevitable sequel.

Their escape won't come without some major resistance, naturally, with the film's villain reportedly being the psychic monster known as Demon Bear, and their freedom will likely only be granted with some help from the mutants' doctor and mentor, Cecilia Reyes.

Reyes will probably sacrifice herself in order to ensure the mutants' escape, using every ounce of her abilities to create a protective bio-field that Demon Bear will eventually destroy, killing her but buying the mutants the precious time they need.
