9. Charlie Hunnam Returns - Pacific Rim: Uprising

Charlie Hunnam is certainly conspicuous by his absence in the upcoming Pacific Rim sequel, considering that his Raleigh Becket was the protagonist of the first movie, he survived it, and well, why wouldn't he be around when everything kicked off again?

Hunnam was unable to reprise his role because he was committed to another project at the time that Uprising went into production, and Legendary Pictures gracefully opted not to exercise his contractual obligation to appear in the film.

While it's certainly possible that Becket will be killed off-screen in the movie, it sure as hell makes a lot more sense to keep the character alive for a future movie, especially considering that Hunnam wanted to appear in the film, but the timing was simply off.

Well, what if Hunnam had time to shoot a brief credits tag teasing his reappearance in the planned third Pacific Rim movie? It'd be a fun way to end the film on a surprising note and give the series a chance to explain Hunnam's absence, hopefully with its tongue poking firmly in its cheek.
