6. Gemini Man

Budget: $80 million (estimated)

Box Office Prediction: $150 million (projected $10 million loss)

Despite the appealing pairing of legendary director Ang Lee and Will Smith, this sci-fi thriller about a man (Smith) facing off against a younger version of himself is one of 2019's biggest wildcards.

Lee's box office cred is all over the place - for every Life of Pi there's a Hulk - and Smith hasn't exactly been churning out the starring hits in recent years, which doesn't exactly get things off to a strong start.

Furthermore, Gemini Man has languished in development for over 20 years, and that could be with good reason.

Though the film is still completely sight-unseen, Lee and Smith alone will likely prevent the budget from being less than $80 million, and it could certainly end up much higher than that if extensive VFX work is required.

Currently set to release on the same day as Joker (October 4), it's easy to imagine the Clown Prince of Crime wiping the floor with this oddly-titled original IP unless the trailers are nothing short of incredible.
