Predicting The 10 Highest Box Office Of 2015's Remaining Movies

5. Mission: Impossible - Rogue Nation - $650m

Paramount Pictures

The Mission: Impossible series has endured for almost 20 years thanks to a simple formula that is all-to-rare amongst blockbuster franchises; each installment is helmed by a different director that applies their own visual style to the project, resulting in a franchise that remains both familiar and fresh. Ethan Hunt returns to our screens on July 31st in Rogue Nation, looking to eclipse the bar for critical and commercial success that was set by Brad Bird's Ghost Protocol in 2011.

The selling point of Mission: Impossible has never been the story; it has always been about what death-defying antics Tom Cruise has been getting up to. So far, the marketing has promised a typically action-packed blockbuster loaded with inventive set-pieces, with Cruise's insane flight on the outside of a plane the focal point. Add in a popular brand, returning characters and one of the catchiest theme tunes in cinema, and box office success is guaranteed.

While Rogue Nation will struggle to match Ghost Protocol's jaw-dropping Burj Khalifa sequence, the trailers have done a great job of promising a top-quality action movie nonetheless. The average gross across the franchise's four movies so far is $524.2m, but the fifth installment will finish much higher thanks to name recognition and audience goodwill to the series, though it might fall short of Ghost Protocol's $694.7m total.

I don't do social media, so like or follow me in person but please maintain a safe distance or the authorities will be notified. Don't snap me though, I'll probably break. I was once labelled a misogynist on this very site in a twenty paragraph-long rant for daring to speak ill of the Twilight franchise. I stand by what I said, it's crap.
