Potentially Seen In: Captain America: Civil War, Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice Its been said before, though we have yet to reach superhero saturation, many feel that at some point in the future, the proliferation of the genre will subside. It was already discussed how certain films are approaching the material with a new perspective but even the big dogs are trying to shake things up to keep people interested. In case youve missed the onslaught of hype for two of the years biggest films, it seems fairly apparent that superheroes fighting superheroes is going to be the it thing this year in movies. Whether its an excuse to cram more heroes into a movie, or a legitimate way to add some more emotion to the fight scenes, both DC and Marvel are having their flagship characters throw down against each other in the coming months. What makes this trend so exciting is that its not something that can be easily repeated. Every year in film is likely to feature video game adaptations and promising remakes, but to see two separate, iconic heroes face off against each other in the same film feels unique. Just as Marvels shared universe inspired a string of imitators, perhaps this will lead to a future of Fantastic Four vs. X-Men, Transformers vs. GI Joe, or Godzilla vs. King Kong (that ones actually happening). What trends do you think will dominate the movies in 2016? Let us know in the comments.
