Predicting The Rotten Tomatoes Scores For 2016's Biggest Remaining Movies

Critical Consensus: "If it doesn't quite live up to J.J. Abrams' previous movies, Star Trek Beyond is still a visually stunning, action-packed and lightly entertaining sci-fi actioner."

It would be foolish to expect Beyond to reach the same heights as Abrams' two prior movies (which scored 95% and 86% respectively), but director Justin Lin (the Fast and the Furious series) has thoroughly proven himself in the action arena and should provide some fun set-pieces above all else.

There has been a mixed response to the lighter tone this film appears to be taking, so it seems likely that the critical reception will drop a little to reflect this.

Plus, most troublingly, Beyond's critical embargo doesn't lift until the day the film releases internationally, and two days before it lands in the U.S., which is always suspicious as hell.
