Robocop: The Evolution Of Paul Verhoeven's Classic In 7 Trailers
2. Robocop Prime Directives (2000)
With the licence about to run out Fireworks Entertainment quickly ordered a 4 part mini series in the hopes they could squeeze as much money as possible from their cyborg cash cow. Thankfully - and I think this shows from the trailer- the series director Julian Grant was amongst the millions who hated the watered down approach the TV series had taken and instead opted to return Robocop to his darker, more violent roots. Although the trailer clearly returns to the original movies style it is still flawed in comparison although the trailers do make the mini series look pretty compelling. Whether Robocop would really say things like "Someone out there wants me dead. I intend to return the favour" is questionable but at least he appears to have gone through puberty thanks to the casting of Page Fletcher.
