2. Exactly How Powerful Are The Ten Rings?
In the Marvel Cinematic Universe, the Ten Rings date back as far back as physically possible, as the organisation made its debut in the franchise's very first movie. They were the group Obadiah Stane paid to kidnap and kill Tony Stark back in 2008, but things will be very different in 2021.
Not only will the real Mandarin be making his first appearance in the franchise with Shang-Chi, the other part of the movie's title is the Legend of the Ten Rings. This refers to the actual weapons themselves, rather than the organisation, of which nothing has yet been seen in the MCU.
Usually with something like this, fans could look to the comics for ideas, as with the Infinity Stones, however the Ten Rings appear to be very different from the source material.
Previously, they have been ten actual rings to be worn on the fingers of the Mandarin, whereas here they appear to be bands of sorts, fitting up the forearms in the MCU.
It may not seem like much, but this could signal even more changes. Shang-Chi's background has been changed greatly for the MCU, and since Marvel Studios have never shied away from taking creative liberties previously, there could be more changes still to be revealed, possibly surrounding the villain's weapon of choice.
