Woody Harrelson can do roguish charm in his sleep, and is an excellent fit to play Han's mentor, who teaches him lessons about trusting people in the harshest way possible.

Smart, sharp, and funny, Beckett plays his role as the leader of the mission expertly. If there's a criticism it's that the movie could do a little more to build an emotional connection between him and Han, which would then make the final showdown between the pair - where Han shoots first - even stronger than it already is, but otherwise he's a solid character who feels like a natural part of this world.
