Spectre: 8 Major Reveals From Sam Smith's Writing's On The Wall Video

1. Madeline In Tears

Ah, the life of a Bond girl. You meet this suave British gentleman who'll happily have a drink with you as much as save you from deadly assassins, bed him once (twice if you're lucky) and then either end up killed or jilted off screen between films. Not the best for long-term companionship (even if you do get him to put a ring on it). And so it is we instinctively know that, despite that cheeky flirting earlier in the video (and the song being all about Bond turning his back on MI6 for love), things aren't going to end happily ever after for James and Madeline. This shot of Swann in tears appears to be hinting at just that. Coming moments after the pair share a rather dreamy embrace (on the train where from previous trailers we know there's an extended exchange on Bond's ethos and Mr. Hinx turns up to spoil the fun), it feels as if it's purposely being juxtaposed with both the previous romance and the song's wider meaning. It could be tricksy editing, but is this saying the film will see Bond wrestle with normality before predictably diving back into the world of super spies? It wouldn't be the first time (and is totally fitting of a S.P.E.C.T.R.E.-involving story). Only three weeks until we find out! What do you make of the Writing's On The Wall music video? Were there any other plot reveals in there? Let us know in the comments.
