Spider-Man 3: 10 More Characters Who Could Return For MCU
6. The Gentleman
Michael Massee first played the mysterious "Man in the Shadows" in The Amazing Spider-Man's baffling mid-credits scene, and later returned in the sequel as a character revealed to be Gustav Fiers, a.k.a. The Gentleman.
Sadly, Massee died back in 2016, so he obviously won't be back to reprise the role. Despite that, Marvel Studios can still make good use of the character with a new actor filling in. After all, The Amazing Spider-Man seemed to indicate that he had supernatural powers (he appeared and then disappeared from Curt Connors' cell), so perhaps he's some sort of otherworldly being?
That would certainly fit into the idea of Spider-Man 3 exploring the Multiverse, and it could be revealed that The Gentleman travels from reality to reality, manipulating events to ensure Spider-Man's demise.
Now, he could be on his way to the MCU to do the same to Tom Holland's web-slinger, bringing some old friends with him. Who knows, perhaps The Gentleman could be outed as Mephisto or even someone like Morlun? There are some exciting possibilities, that's for sure.
