Spider-Man: Homecoming - 10 Major Ways Spidey Will Be Different
6. He Has A (Heroic) Mentor
In Previous Films
In both Raimi and Webb's series, Peter is given a mentor of sorts: in the first, Norman Osborn is introduced as a sort of benefactor/inspiration, and then in The Amazing Spider-Man, Curt Connors takes on a similar role, taking Peter under his wing. In both cases, the mentors end up becoming villains and trying to kill Peter when he gets in their way.
In Homecoming
Peter's (reluctant) mentor figure is Tony Stark, who you can bet won't be turning evil. They might clash in terms of ideology, and we know he eventually takes his enhanced suit off him, but it'll be interesting to see a completely different dynamic.
It'll also be good to see Peter actually enjoying a sort of father-son relationship (even if he's chosen an absent, wayward soul to attach himself to), rather than having to rely on the spectre of his dead uncle for that sort of inspiration.
